Aptima Part of GIFT Team that Received 2019 NTSA Modeling & Simulation Award

Education/Human Performance Team Award for Outstanding Achievement in Modeling and Simulation was awarded to the Generalized Intelligent Framework for Tutoring (GIFT) team

Aptima, the leader in optimizing human performance to ensure that training leads to quantifiable improvements in training and readiness, announced today that it is part of the team that received the 2019 Education and Human Performance Team Award from the National Training & Simulation Association (NTSA).

NTSA 2019 Modeling & Simulation Awards: Education/Human Performance - Team Award for Outstanding Achievement in Modeling & Simulation is awarded to The Generalized Intelligent Framework for Tutoring (GIFT) with contributions from APTIMAThe NTSA, an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), is the sponsor of I/ITSEC, the world’s the largest modeling, simulation, and training event, with over 17,000 registrants in 2019 alone.

At I/ITSEC 2019, the Generalized Intelligent Framework for Tutoring (GIFT) team on which Aptima was a member, was honored by the Education/Human Performance award. The team was recognized for its leadership in adaptive instructional systems (AIS) design in the conception and development of the GIFT, and for its positive impacts on both military and non-military instruction. The GIFT Team was led by Dr. Robert Sottilare of Soar Technology, Inc. and Drs. Benjamin Goldberg, Keith Brawner and Anne Sinatra of the US Army Simulation & Training Technology Center.

Each year at I/ITSEC, the NTSA distributes four awards in four categories: Lifetime Achievement (individual award, body of work); Education and Human Performance (team award, technical achievement); Training and Simulation (team award, technical achievement); and Acquisition and Analysis (team award, process). The Education/Human Performance Award is considered the top award in the field, as recognized by the largest modeling, simulation, and training member community at its largest conference.
