Aptima Promotes Emily Wiese to Associate Division Director
Woburn, MA, – January 30, 2012 – Aptima, Inc., the human-centered R&D company that applies expertise in the disciplines of how humans think, learn, and behave to solve challenges faced by the U.S. Department of Defense, announced today the promotion of Emily Wiese to Associate Division Director, Human Performance, and a member of the company’s Senior Management team.

Emily Wiese joined the company in 2003 as a Human Systems Analyst. Most recently, she served as Aptima’s Team Lead for Performance Assessment within the company’s Human Performance (HP) Division. In addition to Associate Division Director, She will continue to serve as the Product Manager for Aptima’s Performance Measurement Technologies, which includes the company’s A▪Measure® product family for real-time performance measurement.
At Aptima, Ms. Wiese provides expertise in performance measurement and has experience in applying Cognitive Work Analysis to the design of information systems. She specializes in identifying competencies, developing performance measures, and analyzing system usability in command and control domains. Ms. Wiese applies this knowledge to developing performance measurement systems that assess operational readiness in simulated and live training exercises. She also develops multimedia training programs. She received a M.S. and B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Iowa. She is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Ms. Wiese publishes regularly in the area of performance measurement. She was one of Mass High Tech’s 2006 “People to Watch Under 30.”
