Dr. Stephen Gunter has expertise and experience as a team leader, collaborator, and trusted advisor in areas related to the design, development, and validation of measurement methods within selection, certification, and diagnostic assessment frameworks. He has experience working with customers and stakeholders in the banking, call center, and customer service industry as well as with government agencies such as the Veterans Benefits Administration and Department of Defense. Stephen has specific experience and expertise on situational judgment tests, certification tests, diagnostic assessments, surveys, classical test theory, item response theory, assessment engineering, and automated item and test assembly. He has collaborated with a wide range of multi-disciplinary teammates to build multi-media situational judgment tests, a large-scale, high-stakes certification program, and a multi-stage adaptive diagnostic assessment. He has an interest in and conducted research on better elucidating the construct validity of situational judgment tests, response process modeling (i.e., accuracy and time), and automatic item generation.
Stephen received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational psychology from the University of Central Florida and is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the National Council on Measurement in Education.
