Laura’s research interests involve bridging technical and the operational requirements through extensive end-user engagements to achieve results in synthesizing data quickly and succinctly in support of informed decision-making for a variety of domains. Laura’s research interests focus on supporting knowledge management and spatio-temporal analysis of data for complex decision making. Laura has applied this approach to deploying innovative technologies to the field, supporting missions with time-sensitive research and analysis, and leading efforts to understand the requirements to ensure that emerging technologies can be grounded in operational realities and leveraged to inform decisions.

Laura has an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University focusing on counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations, and a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University.
