Aptima Announces Technology Demonstrations and Industry Keynote at I/ITSEC 2016
Focus on the latest in human performance measurement; Aptima CEO to deliver Industry Keynote
Woburn MA & Orlando, FL – November 21, 2016 – Aptima, leader in human-centered engineering, announces it will be demonstrating its performance measurement technologies at five locations throughout I/ITSEC, including Army, Air Force, Navy, and Operation Blended Warrior booths. The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the world’s largest modeling, simulation and training conference, will be held November 28 to December 2 in Orlando, FL. In addition, Aptima CEO and Principal Founder Daniel Serfaty will deliver the I/ITSEC Industry Keynote. The company also announced that Janet Spruill, I/ITSEC 2016 Conference Chair, has recently joined as Vice President (Read).
Aptima’s participation will showcase technologies that measure Warfighter performance during Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training exercises, providing instructors and trainees with essential insights and feedback for developing individual, team, and ‘teams of teams’ skills. Aptima’s A-Measure® platform, which runs on simulators, networked platforms, and a hand-held app, combines a variety of system-based and observer measures to score mission conditions, task performance, and advanced competencies such as Warfighter communication, collaboration, and decision-making. Real-time measures and timelines are displayed on a dashboard, and used for in-depth after-action review.
I/ITSEC Attendees and Media are encouraged to attend the following:
Industry Keynote: Daniel Serfaty, Founder & CEO, Aptima, Inc., Chairman, Aptima Ventures, LLC
8:30 AM, Tuesday November 28, Hyatt Regency Orlando Hotel, Windermere Ballroom (Read)
Booth #701 – Aptima, Inc.: In a joint attack, how do air, ground, and naval assets individually and collectively affect mission outcomes? In a multi-platform coordinated attack scenario courtesy of VT MÄK’s V/R Forces, A-Measure® will assess the performance of individuals, teams, and ‘teams of teams’ as they coordinate and attack entrenched red forces. Measuring assets and platforms at all levels—from single to multiple aircraft, and all assaulting land forces—A-Measure will build a narrative of mission performance as execution unfolds, identifying what went right and what went wrong; enabling instructors to identify and convey corrective courses of action for trainees.
Booth #439, US Navy / NAWCTSD: Operation Blended Warrior (OBW) is a multi-day, large scale special LVC event with a scenario featuring numerous friendly, oppositional and neutral forces in an escalating land, sea, air, and cyber conflict. Involving 50 government and industry participants, OBW will feature Aptima’s performance measurement technologies* tracking, assessing and measuring rules of engagement violations, training rules, and tactical performance, (i.e., kills, locks on target, etc.). Red-green-yellow color-coded and timelined measures will be displayed at the OBW control room dashboard in Booth #339.
Booth #315 – Army Research Laboratory: Team collaboration is vital during the large-scale events that involve tens to hundreds of Warfighters who plan and execute missions. In this mission command training exercise, the ACCRUETM technology captures and analyzes data on email, chat, phone, and face-to-face interactions, providing insights on human and electronic network dynamics. Real-time measures of unit performance will be displayed via a Command Operations Dashboard.
Booth #1173 – Air Force Research Laboratory: “Cleared Hot! LVC” integrates warfighters around the globe operating as a team. Featuring live-fly A-10s, unmanned aerial systems, and JTACs all operating in Indiana, networked with F-16, F-35, and Swedish Air Force simulators, these entities coordinate to prosecute targets and defend in a contested environment. The PETSTM system will track and assess pilot performance, tactical assets, weapons targeting and accuracy, and other key actions. Timeline performance measures will be displayed in the booth’s mission control station.
Booth #439 – US Navy / NAWCTSD: A demonstration of the performance measurement dashboard for the new P-8A Weapons Tactics Trainer (WTT) simulation platform developed by Boeing Defense, Space & Security. The P-8A Poseidon is the Navy’s new fixed wing aircraft. The training scenarios will include sub hunting and target prosecution by P-8A crew.
* For OBW 2016, Aptima is applying four products that track, analyze, store, understand, and visualize human performance in real time and post mission:
- PETS™ is an intelligent suite of data mining, performance analysis, and storage tools developed by AFRL/RHAS and Lumir Research Institute (now part of Aptima).
- PM Engine™ enables collection of data from many different types of data sources, including: neurological, physiological, simulator data (HLA, DIS), built-in instructor operator station control, communications, and audio.
- SPOTLITE® allows observers to subjectively rate and understand student and instructor performance in real time.
- Performance Dashboard™ features web-based displays and filtering tools that enable analysis of performance data captured by PM Engine™ and SPOTLITE®.
