Adam designs and develops techniques for interactive visualization of complex information. His research combines knowledge of human cognitive abilities, domain activity, and computational techniques to create new ways for people to interact with, analyze, and understand information. Adam has applied this approach to enable analysis of multiple streams of temporal data, to assist decision making under uncertainty, and to support operation of unmanned systems through multimodal interfaces.
Adam holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego, and a B.A. in Cognitive Science and Computer Science from Brown University. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
